BxOxTxC

I made the blue/red BxOxTxC image from my previous post (based on Alex's original awesome T-shirt design) into some some desktop backgrounds for my laptop.

They are in 1280x800 resolution.

BxOxTxC Tees

Am compelled to endorse this as it is well good.

Head over to this blog and keep an eye on this upcoming new brand of awesome. Remember, when the end comes, you'll want to be wearing something stylish. I intend to be wearing BxOxTxC.

Nuff said.

Decisions, decisions

Here we find ourselves once more - the dilemma of which pair of trainers to purchase.

Our choices:

1) Etnies Digit II - available for £30. At present I do not own any skater-style trainers, so they would fill a gap in my collection. I like the pink/white/black colour scheme, although I'm usually not a massive fan of wearing black. I do rather enjoy the bright coloured soles however.

2) Gola Eboy Hi-Tops - available for £40. I'm not sure how I feel about these - on the one hand, I'm not a massive fan of high-tops, nor a particular fan of these trainers' retro stylings. That being said, I am a fan of Eboy's designs and the opportunity to own a pair of limited edition Gola/Eboy collaborative trainers does interest me considerably - especially given their recently discounted price.

As always, your input is appreciated :)

Glitch

I just watched the new advert for Glitch's new album. I have this album and I fully recommend it to anyone who feels they would enjoy some pounding Italian electro beats; it is fantastic. You can listen to the entire album here.

Anyway, back to the advert. This is brilliant, original and, above all, shocking. I just watched this by myself in a dark room after midnight and it totally freaked me out. Enjoy :)

The big leagues

Tom has given me some direction for my creative aspirations. It transpires there are websites where companies who are looking for new logos or some form of creative input list their needs and then freelance designers, or indeed anyone, can submit designs for and compete for cash prizes. What a fun idea. Great for the companies who need some freelance work done and great for me as I can tinker away making random designs, improve my skills and very possibly win a bit of cash at the end of it.

I have registered on a website called 99designs.com and have already submitted my first design. The brief was for a logo for a new software company that manufactures 3D rendering software for architects and landscaping companies. They wanted the logo to be either typographic or symbolic (or a hybrid of the two), preferably monotone (for faxes etc) and to encompass a 3D element. I have tried to stick to the brief as best I could, but see what you think.

I have no expectations to win this time around as there are already better designs than mine and 4 days still to go for further submissions. However it's all good practice and it keeps me off the streets. Below is the design I have submitted - I will continue to post any of my further entries to 99designs.com or any other design websites.

New banner

I have redesigned the blog yet again. Below you can see alternate versions of the new banner, as well as the old 'clover' style banner at the bottom.
